65 local authorities will each received a share of the £25 million allocated by the Department for Communities and Local Government last month. Cornwall is not on the list.

Social Care and Learning Development have released details on how to apply for Workforce Development funding for 2013/14. Also included is Cornwall Council's core funding details.
As part of wider welfare reform, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) has been replaced by Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for people aged 16 to 64 from 8 April 2013 and those turning 16 after that date. This is initially for new claims only.
To summarise, as of the 1st July 2013 Social Care Learning & Development will ensure that:
• Funding towards social care qualifications (QCF) is available to NMDS-SC compliant organisations through the Skills for Care Workforce Development Fund (WDF). Support to become NMDS – SC compliant and to make claims is available.
• 50% training fees will be available for individuals or groups for other relevant training sessions. Please complete an ASC21 (individual) or ASC138 (Group) training request form – attached - to apply for this.
• Funding to subsidise qualifications which do not attract help from the WDF may also be available.
• Access to fully funded E-Learning http://www.skillboostersonline.com/cornwall and current face to face programmes https://db.cornwall.gov.uk/sdms/ is unchanged.
The Government has announced that the moratorium exempting businesses with fewer than 10 employees from new regulations will now be extended to firms with up to 50 staff, and will continue beyond 2014. Businesses will also be exempted from new regulations if there is any evidence that they will result in disproportionate burdens that could impede growth.
