Cornwall Dementia Partnership Meeting

Cornwall Dementia Partnership Meeting

These are notes, not official minutes.

Facilitated by Stuart Cohen Cornwall Council, Chaired by Allison Hibbert

Increase in cases – some Covid positive in Community hospitals. Some capacity in dementia nursing homes; also Garner. No dementia clients outside Cornwall at the moment

Discussed admissions to Treliske, tested and negative, but could be positive by the time they are discharged.

Dementia isolation at home

We were told PPE issue is now resolved (I said it wasn’t)

RCHT Admiral Nurse – on her own covering all Cornwall but if you have someone admiralnurse@nhs.net advice mainly, not care homes probably

Urgent care settings now being set – Bodmin and C/Redruth community hospitals

Co-ordination hubs – three; East/Mid/West located at Trevail? Bodmin, Sedgemoor and Dolcoath
Asked for summary of purpose can/cannot do to be sent to the sector; Stuart will do

Verification of death seems to be undertakers (as was the case for a recent death for me)

Cause of death now any doctor not necessarily one who has seen the person

Window for certification extended from 14 days to 28

Dementia Action week is postponed.

I informed group of 2/52 SSP only then Universal Credit, but that one provider on my earlier call suggested providers pay and claim over 2/52 SSP covid related shielding pay back from the council from the Covid money coming out from central gov’t.
