The meeting discussed the recent Care Summit, a meeting led by Kate Shields to look at how the whole system could work together to improve discharges and support social care providers. Notes from the meeting were recently circulated and focused on how the system could support care homes.
It was noted that the pandemic has really raised the profile of adult social care within the NHS and Council, although it was likely that any interest is largely because if benefits the NHS.
Since the summit, everyone seems to have a slightly different view on what needs to be done next. -
There is a plan to re-establish the care home partnership meeting and extend this to include dom care. The aim is for the first meeting to take place before Easter.
There will also be a weekly care home MDT ICC meeting, however it was not clear whether this will be extended to dom care as well. -
It was noted that there are lots of meetings, including many locality based ones and it is not always clear who is attending what, or who should be attending what. Kate suggested that it would be useful to have the meetings all mapped out and planned better.

Kate informed the meeting that the IPC grant was issued yesterday.
The next scheduled meeting will take place on the 8th April 2022.
