Improved outcomes through partnership working: A vision for social care
My home life have released a report, which demonstrates the impact of effective partnership working with care providers, including:
- Better‑designed initiatives that save money
- Improved hospital discharge and reduced crises
- A more resilient and responsive care sector
My Home Life England’s two‑year inquiry, funded by Rayne Foundation, urges a shift away from hierarchical relationships toward equal, collaborative partnerships between care providers and statutory system bodies.
Despite ongoing attempts to integrate health and social care, many providers still experience significant power imbalances, feeling that decisions are imposed and their expertise overlooked.
Where care providers are valued and engaged as equal partners, outcomes improve for everyone (including CQC requirements for councils).
“By placing care home managers at the centre, we shifted from problem-focused discussions to a strengths-based, collaborative approach.” Elaine Hodges, South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust
